The juxtaposition of wanted and weed, loved and laughables, healthy and helpless. I painted this with a wonderful mixture of old lacquers, hammerite, acrylic, inks and oils. Painted round the edges and ready to hang. Prints are not available of this original relief work.
I am a painter/illustrator born in Oxford, UK, brought up in the Cotswolds, working in Bavaria and France and now living and painting in Provence, France. I paint in oils and acrylics. Generally brightly coloured in a medium size to small format. Subjects vary from abstract, through whimsical and enigmatic to classic landscape. Styles also vary considerably depending on season, surreal, impressionist, cubist. People, animals, trees and urban scenes feature in many of my works. Each painting is entirely original influenced by my environment and by masters and classics. I undertake commissions as this gives me the opportunity to see from another standpoint.
