This painting was just inspired by the last festive season, and finished in time for Christmas. I wanted to juxtapose the bells I knew and had seen with stylised bells. In the painting, at least when it started, I put the Liberty Bell, the great Bells of St Petersburg, hand bells and jingly bells. I hope that they are all still there.

I am a painter/illustrator born in Oxford, UK, brought up in the Cotswolds, working in Bavaria and France and now living and painting in Provence, France. I paint in oils and acrylics. Generally brightly coloured in a medium size to small format. Subjects vary from abstract, through whimsical and enigmatic to classic landscape. Styles also vary considerably depending on season, surreal, impressionist, cubist. People, animals, trees and urban scenes feature in many of my works.
