Abstract Evening [409] evokes the long shadows of a warm summer evening. A poplar wood with the Lubron hills, corn fields and vineyards in the distance. Possibly. Poplar woods are few and far between, also the trees are generally rather regularly planted. However I abstracted this view of the trees and the background.
I am a painter/illustrator born in Oxford, UK, brought up in the Cotswolds, working in Bavaria and France and now living and painting in Provence, France. I paint in oils and acrylics. Generally brightly coloured in a medium size to small format. Subjects vary from abstract, through whimsical and enigmatic to classic landscape. Styles also vary considerably depending on season, surreal, impressionist, cubist. People, animals, trees and urban scenes feature in many of my works. Each painting is entirely original influenced by my environment and by masters and classics. I undertake commissions as this gives me the opportunity to see from another standpoint.
